Birthday drawings

It was my birthday in March so I invited some friends over with the pretense of having a party, but really I just needed some people to draw!

Fizzgig

One of the things it was suggested I do before my interview was to do some more drawing from life, particularly some more animals. As it has been so ridiculously cold I put off going to the zoo for as long as possible, but my only subject I could draw at home is Fizzgig. He doesn't really do much, which is good as he stays nice and still, but not so good as I couldn't get many varied drawings of him!

Good news!!

Sorry for the long long break between blog posts. Back in February I decided I was going to apply to do a masters in children's book illustration, so I have been working every hour of the day and night to get my portfolio ready.
I had my interview last week, and despite being so nervous (to the point I thought I was going to faint before I went in) and having flu, they offered me a place the next day!! To say I am excited is a complete understatement. I can't wait until September to get started!!

Zoo Drawing

It was the first warm day off I have had in ages yesterday so I went to the zoo to draw some beasties. It was nice looking round and seeing all the animals, but as it was the first warm day in ages, they were all a bit active and didn't seem to want to be drawn! Here are some of the sleepier animals I did manage to capture.
